“Armed and dangerous” suspects at large after home invasion in El Paso County

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the 4800 block of San Amels Way in the Security-Widefield area on Sunday night.

Investigators are searching for at least two suspects. Deputies say they should be considered armed and dangerous. Deputies do not know how the suspects fled, whether it was by foot or vehicle.

Metro Vice Narcotics and Intelligence is working with the Sheriff’s investigations team on the case.

El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies say the suspects entered the home, rang the doorbell, and shot a man who lived there after he refused to let them in.

Two adults and two children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

The victim injured is, in fact, the homeowner and is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators also found a lot of cash and marijuana inside the home. Neighbors believe the victim was selling marijuana.

Investigators said suspect descriptions are limited but they’re looking for two black males. It’s unclear if a third person is involved.
