A breezy morning and then cold returns

TODAY: A cold front will be racing through the area this morning, and out ahead of it, things will be quite breezy during the morning hours. We could see wind gusts between 30 and 40, with isolated gusts to near 50 in the high country. Temperatures will be fairly mild during the early part of the day, and by the time you come home from work it will be feeling quite cold. Winds should die down by the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Bitter cold sets in tonight and area lows will drop into the teens and single digits.You will need to leave yourself extra time on Tuesday morning to heat up your car and scrape any frost from your windshields.

EXTENDED: The long range forecast looks quiet and fairly cool. Highs will range from the 30s and 40s through Thursday. Highs jump back into the 50s and 60s by next weekend. No major active weather is expected.
