Driver killed in crash outside Walsenburg Identified

State Patrol has identified the woman killed in a crash north of Walsenburg as La Veta resident Norma Heikes, 78.

Troopers say she hit a dead deer with her truck. The impact caused her to spin out and roll over.

Another driver, Heikes Maria Collin-Tellez, then swerved to avoid Heikes. She also rolled over her car. Collin-Tellez, a 1-year-old and a 12-year-old were hurt in the crash.
