First day of primary school for Prince George

Prince George attended his first day of school Thursday at Thomas’s Battersea school, a private school in South London, according to ABC News.

About 500 students go to the school located in a middle-class area of London.

The first day of classes come as Kensington Palace announced this week that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting a third child. William and Kate also have a daughter, 2-year-old Princess Charlotte.

Kate was unable to attend George’s first day of class because she is battling morning sickness and is under the care of doctors.

“Unfortunately, The Duchess of Cambridge remains unwell and will not be able to accompany Prince George on his first day of school,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said. “The Duke of Cambridge will drop off Prince George this morning as planned.”

William and Kate say they are taking a careful and considerate approach to George’s education and have not been afraid to depart from tradition when it comes to protecting their children.

George had attended Westacre, a local Montessori school near the family’s country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, a few days per week since January 2016.
