Manitou Incline crews get air support from helicopter
A helicopter is giving the Manitou Incline repair crews a bit of air support. The Huey helicopter dropped off 70 loads to the crews on the Incline Sunday and Monday. The loads contained railroad ties, concrete, tools and water for the crews and have enough supplies to last about 30 days of work. When the helicopter brings each load it also takes out old rusted drain pipes. MORE: Manitou Incline repair photos 2017 One of the hardest pieces of dropping off the loads is finding a place to put each one, as this particular stretch of the incline is so steep. This work is part of the Phase III construction on the Incline and the trail is expected to be back open the first week of December.
