Labor Day Lift Off kicks off with media day

It wouldn’t be Labor Day without Labor Day Lift Off. Starting Saturday, 70 balloons will take to the sky, each with their own unique story.

Early Friday morning balloonists from all over the nation came out to test their balloons for the 41st annual Labor Day Lift Off.

“Its always fun to come to Memorial Park,” Doug Martin, chief operating officer for Sports Corp, said. “It’s one of the premier parks in Colorado Springs with a great view of the mountains and unbelievable sunrises.”

The weekend full of activities begins each morning at 7 a.m. with liftoff. The events will end with the night glow at 7 p.m. Events run from Saturday to Monday.
