Colorado Springs boy gets picture on the jumbo tron in New York

A Colorado Springs family is getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to share with their son.

2-year-old Major Mize was chosen out of 2,000 applicants to have his picture shown on the jumbo tron in Times Square on September 16th.

It’s all part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual kick off to Down Syndrome awareness month which begins in October.

Major and his family are from Colorado Springs, with his dad, Captain Evan Mize stationed at Fort Carson.

“It’s not something you would ever think would happen because it’s such a unique experience,” said Captain Mize.

Major and his family will be headed to New York to participate in the National Down Syndrome Society’s Buddy Walk.
