CSFD investigates report of a child falling into Sand Creek

Firefighters investigated a call about a child falling into Sand Creek in Colorado Springs Tuesday evening.

Crews from the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to an area of the creek near E. Fountain and Academy.

A person who contacted authorities said they saw a child in the water, but also stated the kid get out safely. It’s believed the child was also with another kid.

CSFD issues a safety reminder on Twitter Tuesday night saying: “Please stay away from banks of streams during heavy rains. Stream conditions can change drastically in an instant.”
