LATEST: What’s to expect for tonight’s weather for southern Colorado
Severe weather is predicted for parts of southern and eastern Colorado this evening.
While Colorado Springs, Pueblo and other nearby towns will not be getting hit with the brunt of the storm, there are still chances of rain showers.
Much of the eastern part of Colorado is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the rest of the evening.
A Tornado Warning was in effect for Kiowa County, but it expired at 5 p.m. and was downgraded to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
An eastern moving storm has split into two systems and is moving into several parts of Colorado before passing into Kansas.
Areas like Rush, Truckton, and Elbert County are likely to be affected by the storms.
Gusty outflow winds up to 60 miles per hour are expected in these areas, with Limon and Karval expecting to see parts of the storm in their area.
Calhan saw a good bit of hail and strong winds from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Calhan as well as Ramah until 4:15 p.m.
