Pueblo ranked 19th worst city in the nation

Pueblo was ranked the 19th worst city in the nation in an article written by Wall Street 24/7 just a few days ago.

Resident Noah Garcia says, “Honestly it makes me feel a little sad inside.”

The authors used data collected in nine major categories including crime, economy, income, housing and education, to rank cities about the 65-thousand population mark.

“All of the 50 cities they picked out the two lowest marked. it’s pretty evident. Ours was that we only have two colleges and two universities,” said President and CEO of the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce Rod Slyhoff.

Stephen Wright is on the economic development board and says, “I know sometimes our educational system gets picked on a lot and I think they are not looking at the big picture of the whole thing.

D-70 and D-60 are the only two school districts in Pueblo and CSU Pueblo and PCC are the only colleges. According to the article, this, along with the population size puts Pueblo in the 19th SPOT.
