Who was James T. Hodgkinson?

We are learning more about James T Hodgkinson after the shooting that happened in Virginia. This 66-year-old man from Belleville, Illinois owned JTH Inspections.

Pictures of Sen. Bernie Sanders were plastered all over his Facebook page. Sanders came out with a statement today, saying, “I have just been informed that the alleged shooter at the Republican baseball practice this morning is someone who apparently volunteered on my presidential campaign. I am sickened by this despicable act.”

One of Hodgkinson’s last posts read, “Trump is a traitor. Trump has destroyed our democracy. It’s time to destroy Trump and Co.”

He was arrested in 2006 for an altercation that took place after he tried to pick up his daughter. The 16-year-old told officers that Hodkinson dragged her by her hair, beating her and choking her when she tried to leave. Records also indicate Hodgkinson shot at one of the girl’s friends with a 12-gauge shotgun and punched another 16-year-old in the face. The charges were dropped when the victims failed to appear in court. But friends of his remain loyal, saying he was just angry with the system.

“I don’t know his politics, but I can see why he is pretty fed up with some of this stuff,” said his friend Dennis, who didn’t want to give his last name.

In the coming days, more information is sure to surface, shedding light on what could drive a man to commit such an act.
