It’s back! 41st annual Renaissance Festival returns to Larkspur

One of the biggest festivals in Southern Colorado is officially back open.

Thousands packed the town of Larkspur as the 41st annual Renaissance Festival kicked off Saturday morning.

The event featured hundreds of costumed performers, all giving their patrons a taste of what life was like back in the Renaissance period.

People also enjoyed a parade, authentic food, and petting zoo for the kids, among other family-friendly events.

If you haven’t been able to make it to the festival yet, don’t worry. The festival takes place for the next 8 weeks on Saturday and Sunday.

“It might seem strange your first time because of all the costumes and unique architecture but it’s a great place to bring your families, your children, and after you give it a chance you’re bound to find something you want to return to again and again,” said James Lafton, performer.

There will be congestion along I-25 and side streets on the way to the festival, so attendees are urged to allot plenty of time for the trip.
