AMBER ALERT UPDATE: Body found of possible missing 10-year-old

From our news partners in Denver, police said they found a body of a deceased child in the area where 10-year-old Kiaya Campbell disappeared Wednesday night.

Officials said they received a 911 call at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday about the discovery of a body.

An Amber Alert is issued for a missing 10-year-old girl from Thornton.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued the alert for Kiaya Campbell. She was last seen Wednesday night.

According to our news partners at KMGH in Denver, police say Kiaya Campbell was with a 15-year-old boy walking to a shopping center near 136th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard around 7 p.m. Wednesday. The two apparently got separated in the rain and Kiaya hasn’t been seen since then.

Reports say crews are searching drainage ditches and there are concerns Kiaya may have been swept away by flash flooding.

Kiaya is described as a white female. She’s 5 feet 4 inches tall and 150 pounds. Kiaya was wearing an orange Broncos shirt with light blue pants and a black backpack with white and grey camouflage pattern.
