Arrest made after toddler shot in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a shooting involving a toddler Saturday afternoon.

Monica Abeyta, 30, is now facing charges of felony Child Abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

Police confirm a child was shot on Driftwood Drive, which is in the area of N. Academy Blvd. and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

We’ve learned the toddler was shot by another child.

The toddler is in serious and Stable condition.
