Memorial Day commemoration held at Evergreen Cemetery

The Evergreen Cemetery Benevolent Society will be holding an annual commemoration ceremony to mark the Memorial Day holiday.

The ceremony begins with 9 a.m., when historic displays from World War I and World War II will be set up in the Historic Evergreen Chapel.

The Sons of the American Revolution will give a presentation at 9:30 a.m.

Following that, there will be a commemoration for the 10th U.S. Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers at 11 a.m.

There will also be a butterfly release following the Buffalo Soldier Commemoration at noon.

Refreshments will be available and the ceremony is free to attend.
