Teller County gets 4th snowstorm of spring

Thursday was a day of changing conditions in Teller County as two bands of heavy snow moved through.

The first round arrived in the morning and the second round hit in mid-afternoon, with Woodland Park apparently receiving the most snow.

At least 6 inches fell but most of it quickly melted from roads and streets.

“I’ll bet we’ve gotten more snow this spring than we did the entire winter,” a homeowner said.

County crews found little to plow but expected to be busier treating icy spots as melting snow freezes overnight.

“It’s never too late for snow around here,” a driver said. “We need the moisture. It had been so dry around here before spring.”
