Snowstorm hits Monument area

Inches of snow fell Thursday morning in Monument, surprising many area residents.

Colorado is known for its unpredictable weather.

“I woke up and saw the snow, heard it coming off the gutters and ice and all that kind of jazz and I was very surprised to see it,” said Monument resident Luke Towle.

Plows were doing their best to prevent the snow from sticking to the roads, but splashback and fog happered the morning commute.

Slideoffs backed up traffic from Monument to County Line Road.
