Protestors angry about trees being cut down

People lined up to protest the cutting down of some iconic and old trees in downtown Manitou Springs off of Washington and Canon Streets.

After a City Council meeting last night, the council voted five to two to cu the trees down for safety reasons including their interference with high-voltage power lines and possible disease in the trees.

The city will finish cutting down the trees by Thursday and will turn any left over wood into mulch and keep it for residents.
