Driver killed on County Road 120 in Chaffee County

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle roll over crash resulting in one
fatality, which occurred on Chaffee County Road 120 in Chaffee County.

A 1999 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on Chaffee County Road 120, when the driver went off the north side of the road. The driver over corrected, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise.

The Chevrolet continued eastbound, crossing the travel lanes of County Road 120, went off the south side of the road and went airborne. The vehicle collided with a small embankment, rolled two times, colliding with a road sign and three parked trailers, before resting on its wheels.

The driver, 34-year-old William Robutka of Buena Vista, was unrestrained and ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. Robutka sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by the Chaffee County Coroner.

The crashing is still under investigation, but alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.
