SodaStream issues recall over potential explosive hazard

SodaStream is issuing a voluntary recall for 51,000 carbonating bottles because they may explode under pressure.

The affected bottles are the 1-Liter Blue Tint Dishwasher Safe Self-Carbonating Bottles. They have an expiration date of April 2020, and were sold between Feb. 2016 and Jan. 2017.

The bottles were sold from SodaStream’s website as well as Amazon, Walmart and Bed Bath and Beyond.

No injuries have been reported in connection to the recall

Anyone who has purchased one of the bottles is asked to stop using them and to contact SodaStream for a refund.
