24th annual Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off scheduled Saturday

Professional and amateur chefs are coming to Manitou Springs for the 24th annual Manitou Springs Gumbo Cook-Off and Carnivale Parade.

The chefs will compete for first, second and third place trophies, as well as cash prizes.

The competition begins at 8 a.m. at Soda Springs Park. Judging and tasting begin at 10:45 a.m.

Spectators will be able to try two tastings of gumbo for $1.

The cook-off ends at 12:30 p.m., or when the gumbo runs out. The Carnivale Parade follows the cook-off. The theme for 2017 is “Feline.”
