Fountain police to host benefit dinner for fellow officer

The Fountain Police Department will host a spaghetti benefit dinner an officer who has been diagnosed with cancer. Officer David Langfels Sr., who was diagnosed in 2006, has worked with the department since September of 2001. The dinner and silent auction will begin at 5 p.m., Wednesday at Fountain-Fort Carson High School, at 900 Jimmy Camp Road. Tickets are available at the Fountain Police Department, the District 8 Administration Building and at Fountain City Hall. Tickets are free for children who are 3-years-old or younger, $5 for children aged 4 to 12. Tickets for adults can also be purchased at the door for $15. “It has been an uphill battle for him and his family,” Fountain Police said of Langfels, “Dave isn’t doing very well and the medical bills from multiple surgeries and treatments are piling up. Please join us for a benefit dinner for David and his family.”
