Deaths of Denver-area mom, sons officially ruled murder/suicide
UPDATE:
LONE TREE, Colo –
The Douglas County Coroner’s Office has officially ruled the deaths of Jennifer Laber, 38, and her sons Adam and Ethan, a murder/suicide.
A coroner’s report said that all three died of gunshot wounds, and that Jennifer Laber’s gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
The boys, ages 3 and 5, each died from a single gunshot wound to the neck.
KDVR-TV reports that an autopsy revealed Laber drugged her sons before killing them. According to their autopsy reports, both boys had Oxycodone, Oxymorphone and Diphenhydramine in their systems.
The boys’ father, Ryan Laber, had previously said that his wife suffered from depression. He attempted to address the question of why his wife killed her sons in a Facebook post on Thursday, writing in part “Going to heaven was just a next step to her. So as an act to insure she could provide the best motherhood to her boys, she took them with, painlessly, while they were under a deep sleep.”
