2 Fort Carson soldiers killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense confirms two soldiers killed in Afghanistan are from Fort Carson.

30-year-old Capt. Andrew D. Byers and 34-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Ryan A. Gloyer died Thursday.

The soldiers were killed during an operation near a Taliban stronghold in the Kunduz province.

They were assigned to the 10th Special Forces group from the Mountain Post.
