Crews responding to oil spill in Ft. Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) – Fire, health and environment officials have responded to a spill at a crude oil processing facility in northern Fort Collins. The Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/2dReNg7) about 6,500 gallons of oil spilled onto the ground before a failed valve was replaced Thursday to stop the flow at a Prospect Energy-operated facility. The spill was reported to emergency crews Friday morning. Poudre Fire Authority spokeswoman Madeline Noblett said Friday that crews were still determining the magnitude of the spill, but that there didn’t appear to be an imminent risk to public health.
