Pence’s plane slides off New York runway

Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Mike Pence’s plane slid off a runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport Thursday evening.

The plane landed hard and then the pilot slammed on the brakes, according to ABC News.

Passengers could smell burning rubber and Pence said mud splashed on the front windows of the cockpit, the network said.

Everyone was evacuated through the back of the plane.

Rain was falling at the airport at the time of the incident.

LaGuardia is closed until further notice.
