Lack of politcal yard signs in Colorado

The presidential election has taken over TV ads and the internet, but where are all the yard signs? Whether you support Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, finding those political signs was easier said than done.

“This year you don’t see them hardly at all. I don’t think people are proud of their choices,” said Winnie Carter.

Empty yards are common in battleground Colorado, there’s little visual evidence of the presidential election.

“I have a Clinton sign, but not in my front yard, it’s in my office,” Ann Maynard.

“Some people are spitting on cars and ripping off bumper stickers. People buy extra signs because they know they will be stolen,” said Tom Blair, with the El Paso County Democratic Party.

“I don’t think the Democrats are moved by her or inspired by her, and I know the Republicans aren’t terribly proud of him,” said Carter.

“We have trump signs in our yard. We’re not afraid of what our neighbors think. We want to make sure that we are able to display our freedom,” said Megan Plantenga.

In the past national campaigns have provided local offices with yard signs, but now local chapters have to purchase their own.
