United Way of Pueblo County hopes to raise over $1M for needy

United Way of Pueblo is hoping to raise over $1 million for people in need.

The announcement came at their 94th annual campaign kickoff luncheon and auction, which was held at the Pueblo Convention Center.

Kevin McCarthy of U.S. Bank was named the head of the 2016 campaign chair and lead for fundraising efforts.

The president and CEO of the Pueblo County United Way says this event is more than a campaign kickoff luncheon.

“It’s much more than a campaign. What we do is go out and raise money to try to make people’s lives brighter in Pueblo and that this all about getting people excited,” said Andrea Aragon, president/CEO of United Way of Pueblo County.
United Way of Pueblo County says it’s also looking for more people to volunteer as school mentors.
