Trump campaign signs vandalized in COS
If you drove by the intersection of South Academy and Hancock on Wednesday morning, you may have seen numerous Donald Trump campaign signs that were vandalized.
Those signs were taken down shortly after but KRDO NewsChannel 13 was told they said Chump instead of Trump.
Local leaders are weighing in, saying the vandalism is something that is just uncalled for.
“I’m sorry to hear that that has to happen. These signs are not expensive, but it is still expensive. You certainly wouldn’t want people taking $5 and ripping it up in front of you. So, let’s stay away from vandalism and have a good clean campaign in El Paso County,” said Stan Vanderwerf with the El Paso County Republican Party.
KRDO NewsChannel 13 also contacted Colorado Springs police about the incident. A spokesperson said vandalism is common and they aren’t investigating it at this time.
