Position: Board Operator/News Producer

KRDO, AM/FM Radio, in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, located on the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, is looking for an energetic and enterprising Board Operator/News Producer to operate the radio stations outside of live local news programs, record weather forecasts, and provide support to news anchors/produce live news hours if needed, write and voice news updates.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to meet program manager’s requirements for on-air elements; understand the set up and uses of the radio control room board; know and understand the programs that air on the stations in order to air them; keep control room clean and orderly; deal with listeners in a courteous and timely manner; write and deliver news updates as needed; update website and social media as needed; maintain program log and ensure all scheduled items air; record and dub weather forecasts from TV meteorologists; assist the anchors in preparing news audio cuts for air; record and update recorded PSA’s as needed; answer studio phone and assist listeners with their questions; monitor news sources for breaking news and notify anchors; other duties assigned by program manager.

The position requires someone with strong organizational skills, solid written and verbal communication; good voice; strong audio editing skills; great understanding of good commercial content ideal candidate must be adept at working effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressured and competitive environment, individually or as part of a team, remaining flexible when scheduled to work weekends, nights and holidays.

Required Qualifications:
One year of prior experience in radio as a Board Operator/News producer preferred.
