Black Hills Energy educate Pueblo children on electrical safety

Black Hills Energy educated kids in Pueblo on electrical safety on Monday.

The presentation follows recent outrage over price increases on Black Hills Power customers.

Employees showed kids hot to protect themselves around electricity.

Black Hills says being safe around electricity is the core of everything the power company does, and they just want to spread that message to local kids.

“It’s a great learning tools, and it’s always good for kids to have exposure to professionals here in our community who care about them and their safety and teaching them new projects especially when it’s stem related. Science and math are so important to our kids these days,” said Amber Shipley, director of development with Black Hills.

Volunteers also participated in a game room tournament with the kids following the demonstration.
