Calhan FD: Man doing target practice starts grass fire on own land

A man doing some target practice started a grass fire on his own property in Calhan on Sunday.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the fire is out.

The bulk of the flames was located in the 29,000 block of Calhan Place.

It reportedly burned around 45 acres. Some fence posts were damaged.
