Gas leak causes temporary road closures, building evacuations on Widefield Blvd.

A gas leak temporarily closed roadways and evacuated businesses along Widefield Boulevard on Wednesday.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that they were responding to the leak at around 10 a.m.

As of 10:20 a.m., the leak had been repaired, allowing businesses and roadways to reopen.

When the leak was first reported, businesses from 1 to 15 Widefield Boulevard were having to evacuate and Widefield Boulevard to Fontaine were be closed.
