Clinton’s unpopularity hits new high, loses support with women

A new poll conducted by ABC News/Washington Post shows Hillary Clinton’s unpopularity has reached a new high in her bid for the White House.

The poll released Wednesday morning has her unpopularity almost on par with Donald Trump among registered voters.

According to ABC News, the results further highlight both candidates as the most unpopular presidential nominees in almost 30 years of polling data.

Among all adults, 56 percent now view Clinton unfavorably, compared to 63 percent who say the same about Trump. That’s up 6 percentage points from the past three weeks, researchers reported.

Among registered voters, the two candidates have near-identical unfavorable ratings: 59 percent for Clinton vs. 60 percent for Trump.

Clinton has also lost support among women. Polling data shows women held a 43 percent unfavorable view of the candidate last month, but that has now risen to 52 percent. It’s the first time in a year that most women have viewed her unfavorably.

One reason for the decline could be the combination of her post Democratic Convention bump, and a renewed interest in her email investigation, researchers said.
