Teen driver arrested for fatal drag-racing crash in Denver
Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old driver who they say was street racing when he fatally struck a pedestrian in Denver and then left the scene of the crash.
The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/2c4a0U7 ) the victim of the Sunday night crash has been identified as 26-year-old Nicholas Richling, who died of multiple blunt force injuries.
The teen faces charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Police say witnesses reported that the teen, who was driving a Dodge Caliber with only a learner’s permit, was racing a black sedan before he struck Richling as the man crossed the street.
The teen left the scene and called his family, who then led the suspect to police.
Police are still looking for the driver of the sedan.
