Severe weather leaves behind storm damage, more storms expected

Residents in Colorado Springs are waking up to storm damage throughout the region after Monday’s severe weather.

Multiple roads were covered in hail and several cars were left stranded or abandoned.

Colorado Springs Fire Department had to rescue several drivers during the storm, so far there are no reports of injuries.

Some areas saw a foot of hail gather on side streets.

One driver was rescued after his car became trapped by rising flood waters near Tia Juana street and Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs.

Peterson Air Force Base also saw two and a half inches of rain.

Colorado Springs police are reminding motorists to stay aware on roads that might have storm damage and to not drive through flooded areas.

A chance for more storms is likely again Tuesday afternoon.
