Red Cross offering cleanup supplies to COS residents affected by Monday’s storms

The American Red Cross is providing cleanup supplies to Colorado Springs residents affected by the severe storms that swept through the Pikes Peak Region on Monday.

Heavy rain and hail produced flash flooding in the Colorado Springs area. Streets and homes were flooded.

Red Cross teams will be set up in a parking lot at the corner of Platte Ave and Logan Avenue from 10 a.m. to around noon.

Teams will also look at several neighborhoods to determine if additional assistance can be provided.

According to Red Cross, six homes have been determined unlivable with an additional five homes determined to have suffered major damage. Red Cross has opened three support cases for a total of five people, providing immediate non-livable assistance for five and temporary lodging for four.
