Man tries to rob COS home while resident still inside

A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he attempted to rob a home in the 300 block of E. Cache La Poudre while the resident was still inside.

John Grzeskowiak was arrested for charges of Second Degree Burglary and Unlawful Distribution of Schedule II Controlled Substance at just before 3 a.m.

The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to the home after getting a call from the resident stating that Grzeskowiak had came in his home using a flashlight and carrying a backpack. Police believe the robber entered the house through the back door and began taking items. Grzeskowiak was still inside when officers arrived to investigate.

Grzeskowiak is currently being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
