Artists celebrate 100th anniversary of National Park Service in Teller Co.

Local artists gathered at a famous Colorado National Park on Saturday.

The Paint Your Park event was at the Florissant Fossil Beds in Teller County.

Artists spent the last couple of weeks working on the pieces and on Saturday they hung them up for display.

All the proceeds from any of the pieces sold went to the Friends of the Fossil Beds.

“We want people to come out and explore the park. People might now see or recognize,” said Ken Sharika, director of the PPPAP.

The artwork will be set up again on Sunday.

Admission into the park is free this weekend as part of the 100 th anniversary celebration of the national park service.
