Heart of CSU Pueblo’s defense out for the year

A man many players referred to as the “heart of the defense” for the CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves will miss all of the 2016 season with a knee injury.

Senior defensive lineman Josh Croy suffered what sources with the school call a “season-ending knee injury” during practice on Tuesday.

Croy withdrew from school to save his final year of eligibility and is scheduled for surgery sometime during the last week of August.

The expectation is that, with rehab, Croy will return to the Thunderwolves for the 2017 season.

In 2015, Croy played in all 14 of the Thunderwolves’ games and finished 9th on the team with 50 tackles. He also chipped in four sacks, a forced fumble, and a blocked field goal.
