Man who apparently shot himself found after all-night search

A man who apparently shot himself and then fled from police in Boulder is in custody after an all-night search that shut down major roadways.

Russell Daniels, 34, was found Wednesday morning and put into an ambulance.

Police got a report about a suspicious motorhome and found it was registered to Daniels, whom police say has an extensive criminal history and is wanted in an out-of-state drug case.

When they went there Tuesday around 10:30 p.m., they say Daniels refused to come out but a woman he had been ordered to stay away from ran outside.

Officers immediately didn’t go inside but say Daniels fired four rounds before moving to the back of the motorhome out of sight.

Police say they later found a significant amount of blood inside.
