Facebook activates safety check after Italy earthquake

Facebook has activated its Safety Check for Americans in the Italy quake zone.

Americans traveling or visiting Italy can use the feature to let friends and relatives know that they are alright.

The feature will also tell those in the U.S. if they have any friends in the affected region.

You can use the feature by typing safety check in the search bar of Facebook at the top of your profile.

37 people have been reported dead since the 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck. Rescue teams are currently working to shift through the rubble and search for more survivors.
