Stage 3 water restrictions lifted in Fountain

Fountain Utilities has lifted Stage III water restrictions that have been in place since June.

The restrictions were put in place in order to reduce water consumption, which allowed Fountain to rely exclusively on surface water. Utilities have been using surface water while the investigation into perfluorochemical (PFC)contamination in the groundwater in southern El Paso County continues.

Officials at Fountain Utilities are encouraging water conservation and said that voluntary Stage 1 restrictions are still in place.
