Neighbors show Colorado Olympian Missy Franklin a lot of ‘heart’
Gold medalist and swimmer Missy Franklin arrived home to Centennial after the Rio Olympics to find her neighbors had given her a token of their appreciation.
Franklin posted a video to her Twitter page of dozens of paper hearts decorating her yard that had personal messages on them.
She tweeted “I am beyond blown away by this love and compassion. I have the best community in the world around me! THANK YOU.”
Franklin, who graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, did not win any individual medals at this year’s Olympics. She did win gold for swimming in the preliminary of the 4×200 meter relay.
She rose to stardom during the 2012 London Games when she won four gold medals and a bronze.
