Silver Queen contestants sit down with last year’s winner

State Fair Silver Queen contestants got the chance to have tea with royalty on Wednesday.

The Pueblo Regent Retirement Community hosted Tea with the Queen.

Last year’s Silver Queen, Ruby Moreland, sat along with this year’s contestants.

Moreland recounted her excitement when she won last year’s competition.

“Oh, when I won, I was so excited. I was up in the clouds for a while,” said Moreland.

The State Fair starts on the 26 th and goes until September 5 at the Pueblo Fair Grounds.

Visitors will be able to get some great food, ride the rids and listen to some live music.
