Renovated school will open in District 11

Children across Southern Colorado are getting ready to head back to school. One group will do so at a new facility.

Today Colorado Springs school District 11 will unveil it’s newly remodeled, Adams Elementary School. The school prior to the new elementary had to close down because of failing infrastructure.

In February, District 11 voted to close down Helen Hunt Elementary. Officials say it was old and outdated. The 400 students who were there will now go to Adams Elementary. District 11 students head back to school on Thursday.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for Adams Elementary happens today at 2 p.m.
