Preparations begin for Colorado State Fair

Pueblo is getting ready for the State Fair, are you?

Crews have been setting up the carnival rides, and the fair manager says people can expect a lot of new vendors this year.

“We’ve got a host of new vendors…while you’re here on the Fair Grounds,” said Sarah Cummings, general manager of the Colorado State Fair.

The city is also looking for help to clean up before the fair begins. Organizers need volunteers to clear out weeds and trash along Prairie Avenue.

If you want to help, the group will meet at the Safeway parking lot on the corner of Prairie and Northern Avenue at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

At least 500,000 people are expected to attend the fair this year.

It kicks off Friday, August 26 and runs through September 5.
