Two displaced after Colorado Springs house fire

Two people are out of their home Saturday night after a brief but intense fire on the city’s upper west side.

The blaze occurred about 7:30pm on the 800 block of Hoorne Avenue, just a few blocks south of Garden of the Gods Road.

The flames appear to have started in a basement living room.

Two people in the home at the time were able to get out safely, though both were treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

No word yet on the cause.

The Red Cross is assisting those displaced residents.
