Mom arrested after girl drowns in swimming pool
The mother of a 7-year-old girl who drowned in a swimming pool at an apartment complex in Arapahoe County has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office says 27-year-old Eve Gbeugre was taken into custody after investigators determined the child got access to the pool when she was left alone in the residence for an undisclosed amount of time.
No attorney for the mother was listed in court records.
The sheriff’s office says deputies were called to the apartment complex on Thursday evening after someone pulled the girl from the pool.
Investigators say the girl was apparently unsupervised while she was in the pool.
On Monday, two girls and their baby sitter died in swimming pool at a mobile home trailer park.
