Expansions almost finished for Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region is almost finished with its expansions.
The expansion started 10 months ago and is almost complete.
The facility has a new pet adoption system and an updated lobby. Now crews are working to expand the Lost and Found.
Their last phase is to add a brand new dog park.
“The dog park is a real critical part of our programming. Not only do we have volunteers who walk our dogs, but they’re training these dogs, providing them with socialization and getting them ready for adoption. It’s life saving and plays a big role in that,” said Jan McHugh-Smith, CEO of Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region.
The park will be north of the building and will have a bridge connecting it to the main building.
